Transition to Named User Plans
Discover what’s possible with Autodesk – transition to named user plans. If you have a multi-user subscription, at your first renewal only, after August 7, 2020 trade in one seat for two standard subscriptions for one named user each, at a cost consistent with what you pay today.
Standalone Maintenance or Network Maintenance
For current standalone maintenance or network maintenance plan customers, at your first renewal before May 7, 2021 trade-in one standalone or network maintenance seat for one standard subscription (trade in standalone and get single-user access; trade in network and get multi-user access) at a price similar to what you’re paying in 2019 for maintenance. After trade-in, network maintenance plan customers will also have an opportunity to take advantage of the multi-user trade-in at their next renewal after August 7, 2020.
Maintenance plans will retire on May 7, 2021 and subscriptions with multi-user access will retire on August 7, 2021 and cannot be further renewed.

The new plans actually include tools to help you with account management. With the Standard plan, added features like bulk import will allow you to create as many Autodesk users as you need at one time. The Premium plan lets you automate your user provisioning with a single sign-on. Once your users are assigned access, you’ll gain valuable insights into your user data, which could lead you to more efficient practices.
Yes. But with even more options and control. With the new plans, you will have access to your usage data and can assess how your software is used. For your less frequent users, you can choose monthly terms. While a version of our flexible access option is currently only available to enterprise clients, we are working on making it available to more customers in 2021. Our recommendation is to trade in your multi-user and network maintenance seats today to keep your costs consistent, and then examine your usage data to determine if the flexible option will still make sense when it becomes available.
Based on customer feedback and preferences, we are divesting from the plans that rely on serial numbers and adopting the industry standard named user model. Technology and software are always evolving and often difficult to predict; however, this jump to a new paradigm will enable us to provide a more personalized experience going forward. We encourage you to take advantage of trade-in offers that will keep your costs consistent with the price you’re paying today and make them predictable until 2028. In addition, you’ll actually get better value for your money with new product usage insights and more efficient administrative tools.
The easiest answer is a financial one, as moving to the Industry Collection is ultimately less expensive than your current maintenance plan. In addition, you’ll gain even more value from increased productivity due to a collection’s integration between products, shared views, and other cloud-based collaboration tools. Additionally, detailed product usage reporting will help assure that your users are taking advantage of all the tools available to them for maximum efficiency.
While named users plans are becoming the preferred industry-wide standard, this move will allow us to deliver a more relevant, personalized experience moving forward. And more immediately, our trade-in offers will keep your current costs consistent and predictable until 2028. The new plans also give you more value with easier administrative tools and product usage insights to help boost efficiency.
Absolutely. Once you trade in your seats for named user accounts, upgrade to the Premium plan and you will receive similar benefits to those you get from Extra Territory Rights, including single sign-on, user-level reporting, 24/7 voice support, and more.
